Artist Statement

Faith Henderson enjoys creating art, to see the whole process unfold going step by step starting with a simple sketch to a beautiful work of art. The main inspirations for her work are form, texture and pattern. Through her work she investigates the different ways the medium can be used to express emotion in a piece.  Using art as a form of expression she gets the release from her creative process whilst she develops her knowledge of her practice. Allowing for progression in her practice and work.
Ceramics is her preferred material as its versatility gives a wide range of possibilities with form, scale, and texture this lets her designs and ideas run wild, this allows for creating polished, thought provoking and expressive work. Henderson would like her audience to think about where the idea came from, what thought provoked the work, also to think about how it is made, and the skill and knowledge it takes to produce the piece. This can create a deeper connection with the artwork and the artist.
Henderson’s work represents her vision as it displays the skills she has learned and honed over the years. Which represent how she is constantly striving to increase her knowledge and skill so it can further her practice, creating a cycle of learning and creativity.
